Summary of Main Activities

In 2015 Unitas recognized the global increase and dangers of the second largest criminal industry, basic right of freedom of human beings, before which since the conception of Unitas in 2011 we were concentrating on marginalized society members. Elderly as well as children without care were the main focus of our humanitarian activities, and when historical floods hit our region in 2014, Unitas redirected all aid and energy in rebuilding the houses and businesses for those in need.

With concentration on the dangers of human trafficking, our strategy turned to education and awareness as a key to prevention. The energy and strength of our teams and partners alike resulted in creation of Education Prevention program in 2016 with the key state actors and institutions, product of which is a Manual for Education System: Protecting pupils from Human Trafficking, the movie Observers and enabling of a systematic network of educators within Serbia, as well as the region, amongst other. Already a traditional partner of Unitas since 2011, our cooperation with the Red Cross of Serbia redirected towards the fight against human trafficking, and to this day this partnership provides a base in many of our projects. Under the auspices of Unitas North America and Unitas Switzerland, and with the assistance of international and local partners, our activities continue to bring results in the fight against this most profitable criminal industry.
